The Midnight Meat Train

The Midnight Meat Train

Its inevitable, all actors will at some point in their lives try to start their own restaurant chain. Yawn. But not in this case is it the normal mediocrity, Vinnie Jones has begun a new career after footballer and actor now we follow him as he attempts to start up as a traveling butcher and restaurant owner we learn in this heart rending insight into his life.

This emotional documentary follows the life and point of view of a paparazzi photographer looking to catch Vinnie in compromising situations so that he can make loads of money selling the pictures to some retarded arse-wipe publication or snobbish gallery.

It’s sad to see Vinnie now having to work as a Butcher to make ends meet  to help get his business off the ground but it’s even worse to the see the lengths the photographer will go to, to envade his targets privacy in order to get his pictures. Nothing is scared, even the workplace and soon to be opened restaurant are easily penetrated by this morally devoid photographer.

We also follow Vinnie as he tries to setup his new novelty restaurant, ‘The Midnight Meat Train’ – an underground train with an all you can eat human flesh bonanza. Turns out Vinnie’s found a lucrative niche market for the upper classes who like to eat a bit of the flesh of the working classes. Good for him! Its certainly an un-tapped food source that needs to be put in the public mind.

Whilst he’s struggling to make a go of his travelling restaurant, our photographer/stalker goes to further lengths to get the dirt and a paycheque, by enlisting the help of his friends to break into Vinnie’s apartment and steal anything that they can later sell on EBay.

Its startling and harrowing tale of what lengths a guy will go to in order to make money off of a celebrity with a total disregard for morality, decency and respect for fellow mans privacy more than it is a glimpse into the celebrities life. All though by watching this filum we are in effect paying and permitting this invasion to take place, justifying it to this photographer, now filum maker.

We leave the filum on opening night for the restaurant, will it be a hit? If so a lucrative chain of restaurants awaits Vinnie. We leave seeing the critics assemble under city hall to try this taboo meat.
